Who operates the site

Sevenfold Puzzle Studio is the public project name used by the individual developer who operates this website. It is not presented as a separate incorporated company, a New York Times subsidiary, or an official partner. Contact the publisher at contact@nytspellingbee.me.

What this site provides

The site provides a browser-based way to play available daily seven-letter puzzles, preserve progress locally, revisit archive dates, and use spoiler-controlled hints. Separate editorial pages explain solving methods, answer distributions, pangram patterns, and structural difficulty.

Data source and original analysis

Daily letters, accepted answers, pangrams, dates, and editor information originate from New York Times puzzle data and are cached by this site's server-side maintenance process. Identifying that source is attribution only and is not a statement of authorization, sponsorship, or partnership.

Hints, score summaries, answer-count distributions, historical comparisons, the difficulty estimate, page copy, and interactive tools are generated or written by this site. The browser communicates with this site's API and is not given database credentials.

Editorial and correction policy

Structural difficulty is a transparent estimate based on answer count, maximum score, average word length, and pangram count; it is not an official rating or a measure of player completion. Material corrections are made when a puzzle, calculation, accessibility issue, or attribution error is confirmed.

Use the contact page for corrections, privacy requests, copyright notices, or general feedback. The public GitHub issue tracker may be used for non-sensitive technical reports only.
