Information stored in your browser

The game uses browser local storage to remember selected puzzle dates, found words, scores, streaks, badges, and interface preferences. This information stays on the device and browser profile where it was created unless you clear it. The site does not use it to create a registered account.

Server requests

When you load a page or request a puzzle, hosting and serverless infrastructure may process standard request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, referrer, and diagnostic data. Puzzle requests include the selected date but should not contain a name or email address.

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visits, page usage, device categories, and technical reliability. Google Analytics may process cookies, IP addresses, device information, referrers, and similar identifiers under Google's terms and policies. The site does not intentionally send names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information in Analytics URLs or event fields.

Google AdSense and third-party advertising

Advertising is not enabled until the site's stated approval and rights conditions are met. If Google AdSense is activated, Google and other third-party advertising vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses, device identifiers, browser information, ad interactions, and similar data to deliver, measure, limit, secure, and personalize or non-personalize advertising.

Consent choices

Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization are denied by default in the site's Google consent configuration. Data retention and deletion

Browser game data remains until you clear this site's storage or reset the browser profile. Hosting, security, and diagnostic logs are retained only for the periods configured by the relevant service providers and operational needs. Analytics retention follows the settings configured for the site's Google Analytics property. To request access, correction, or deletion of information reasonably associated with you, email contact@nytspellingbee.me; identity and scope may need to be verified.

Children

This site is a general-audience word puzzle and is not directed to children below the age at which parental consent is required in their location. The publisher does not knowingly collect account profiles from children or use the site to create interest-based advertising audiences from child-directed activity.

Precise location and sensitive information

The site does not request device-level precise location. Do not enter personal, sensitive, financial, health, or contact information into game fields, URLs, GitHub issues, or feedback intended for public display.
